People in the WDI Consulting team have previously worked in leadership, consulting and management positions with well-known international or leading specialist organisations. Their expertise is underpinned by strong academic and professional qualifications.

Whilst individually different in many ways, the team is united by some important characteristics:

Clare Russell

Director and CEO

Clare has over 15 year’s experience supporting individuals, teams and organisations at key points of evolution and growth. Her work focuses on revealing the as yet unexpressed potential within individuals and collectives. She has a particular strength supporting teams and individuals in utilizing widely underdeveloped capabilities in the intuitive, mindful, systemic, energetic and transpersonal aspects of leadership and change.
Clare started her career with customer led marketing consultancy, Dunnhumby, where she worked at board level with some of the largest retailers and manufacturers worldwide in areas such as new market entrance strategy and L&D strategy. Clare is a certified coach (ICF), with advanced training in meditation, wellbeing and energy management modalities including systemic approaches to change, indigenous leadership and harnessing the balance of the masculine and feminine.

Happiest when: in a special nature spot picnicking in the sunshine with good friends and delicious food.

Lynn White

Non-executive Director

Lynn set up WDI in 2000. Prior to that, she spent over ten years in business and organisational consulting roles based in the City of London. As part of an MBO team she led development of the organisation’s people, culture and capabilities in readiness for an IPO and subsequent sale. Her passion today is balanced leadership where she enables organisations and their leaders to create cultures of sustained high performance, where all people thrive and are able to bring their whole selves to work. Lynn is a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, has a Diploma in Performance Coaching and is a graduate member of the CIPD.

Happiest when: I’ve take on a new personal challenge and then successfully cajole my friends to tag along with me!

Steph Robin

Consultant

Steph is a Leadership Development Expert acting as a strategic partner to senior leaders, high-potential talent, teams and organisations transforming the way they think, behave and perform. Through executive coaching, consultancy and workshop design and facilitation she future proofs leadership and culture to be more inclusive and entrepreneurial. Her work spans from start up to scale up to matrix multinationals in retail, CPG, tech, finance and public sector.
Steph’s leadership practice is inspired by her 20-year career in Data Science Commercial and Operational Leadership roles, launching and scaling initiatives across the world and leading with resilience through growth and downsizing. She pivoted her career to follow her passion of developing talent to be at their best, more of the time. She brings the best of her experience, network and learning for the benefit of clients. She has lived and worked in New York City, New Delhi and is currently based in London.

Consultant

Angela has been consulting and coaching for global professional service firms for over 20 years. She helps leaders build profitable organisations through a people centric approach.  She leads change programmes and develops leadership change capability.  Angela works with leadership teams to create inclusive strategies and cultures as a competitive advantage.

Angela has a lifelong passion for coaching, mentoring and sponsoring women to create meaningful careers that unlock confidence and new levels of ambition.

Linda Stokes

Coach

Linda has been a consultant and coach specialising in leadership and team development and behavioural change for many years. Working alongside clients to help them bring about their desired changes, she supports them in navigating the opportunities and tensions in organisations as they translate their intentions into action. Before consulting she held a number of senior HR and development positionsin financial services and IT. Linda has a Masters degree in Managing Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour, is an accredited coach through Ashridge Business School, a qualified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and licensed to use numerous psychometric and 360° instruments.

Happiest when: cooking at a weekend for my family and friends … with a glass of wine!

Richard Hughes - Jones

Consultant

Richard is an executive coach and consultant who works with the next generation of businesses and leaders. He previously spent a decade working in strategy consulting at Deloitte and on a long term secondment to Her Majesty’s Treasury, where he was a member of the Senior Management Team responsible for designing and delivering the £1.5 billion Equitable Life Payments Scheme.

Richard lectures in Consulting skills on an established MBA programme. He is about to complete his ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching & Mentoring.

Happiest when: reading a book or being in the mountains.

Marianna Karagiannakis

Consultant

Marianna began her career leading customer and operations teams in Australia over 20 years ago.  After holding various in-house business leadership and transformation roles, she took the skills and experience she gained and put them to use helping organisations through change. She has a particular passion for and expertise in improving people’s Engagement and Experience at work, shifting Company Culture & Behaviours, Leading people through Change and Coaching for Performance.

Marianna has developed an acute sense of what makes change stick and how to create the appropriate mindset to enable this within individuals, teams and organisations.

Happiest when: travelling and exploring new places, eating great food at a cool restaurant, cooking up a storm, spending all day at the beach, mountains and lakes combined, D&M’s (Deep & Meaningful conversations), getting into bed on a cold winter’s night with the electric blanket on, drinking a great glass of red… she could go!

Jonathan Cormack

Consultant

Jonathan began his career in food retail, joining Tesco as a store management trainee where he learnt, amongst other things, to bake bread, fillet fish and cut meat.  He moved into financial services, working in both retail and corporate banking.  These experiences formed his passionate belief that people are the differentiating factor in organisational life.  Jonathan has worked in operational leadership, organisation development and organisation effectiveness roles, focusing on strategy decode, change leadership and execution.   Specific assignments and interests include  integration post acquisition,  translating strategy into practice (including organisation design) and the human performance side of change.   Jonathan has worked extensively across Europe, the Middle East and Asia and he and his wife, Nicky, have lived in Dubai and South Korea – where their daughter was born.

Jonathan recently decided to fulfil a life time ambition, turning a hobby into a career by qualifying as a commercial pilot.  He now splits his time between consulting, piloting corporate jets, and teaching as a flying instructor.

Happiest when: going for a walk with Nicky, Sophie and the two mini schnauzers.

Miriam Akhtar

Coach

Miriam is a positive psychologist, author, wellbeing consultant, and coach. She is one of 100 global experts invited to contribute to The World Book of Happiness and The World Book of Hope, given to world leaders with a request to put wellbeing on their national agenda.

Miriam’s day-to-day work is as a trainer, coach, and consultant, delivering wellbeing and resilience programmes.  She is an educator, engaged in training up the next generation of positive psychology practitioners, and is on the faculty of the Executive MAPP at the University of Lisbon.

An author of six books including the ground-breaking Positive Psychology for Overcoming Depression. Her most recent is the best-selling Little Book of Happiness, which has 12 scientifically grounded habits of happiness.

Happiest when: Sharing good food, good wine and good conversation with friends.

Lindsey Brown

Consultant

Lindsey works with people to help them find practical, workable approaches to relationship and organisational challenges. After university, she taught in Paris for a year before qualifying as a solicitor in London. Lindsey’s desire to understand and get involved in the dynamics of business relationships meant that she moved out of law and for the last 20 or so years, has worked as a consultant, specialising in using applied psychology. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology, a postgraduate certificate in Counselling Psychology, a variety of psychometric licences and is currently studying for a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Happiest when: I’ve had a good night’s sleep, am laughing in the company of friends and Muttley, my dog, is nearby – most likely on my lap!

Christina Johnson

Consultant

Christina works with people, teams and organisations as they navigate life’s ups and downs.  She believes in keeping things simple, getting one thing to do many things, and uses her experience in HR, learning and development, and psychology to support clients with figuring out what that one thing is for them.  Christina began her career in HR working with the professional services.  She draws on her broad academic background, training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, and commercial experience to think creatively about the types of solutions that might work best for her clients.

Happiest when: I’m sitting somewhere warm (even if it’s cold outside) with a good book on my lap, a great glass of wine in my hand and a snoring dog by my side.

Pam Spencer

Coach

Pam’s career in business spans thirty years in project management, HR, organisational development and, for the past fifteen years, as an independent consultant and executive coach. She believes greater self-awareness and a willingness to develop our skills are attributes that affect our whole lives not just work and that we all have the capacity to raise our game that provides a payoff to both individuals and their organisations. She has lived and worked in a number of different countries and has a particular interest in cross cultural issues and the value of diversity. Pam is a certified executive coach, is a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is qualified to use a wide range of psychometric tools.

Happiest when: travelling to new places or pottering in the garden.

Liz Corrigan

WDI’s Linchpin

Liz has been with WDI since its inception some 20+ years ago. She is WDI’s office manager and acts as a base station for everything WDI. Her exceptional organisational skills, endless patience and can do attitude make her a huge asset. Previously, Liz’s working career was in the insurance industry.

Happiest when: I’m outdoors, with family and friends, or when I have a dog to walk and we are eating ice cream at the seaside.

Esther Newall

Consultant

Esther joined WDI in 2010, coming from a consultancy background and having emerged from a long training in psychotherapy. Drawing on this mix of experience, she works systemically with teams and organisations to bring about cultural and behavioural change. Her mission is to achieve a rebalancing of the ‘machine’ and ‘social system’ aspects of organisations. Esther has an MSc in Occupational Psychology, is a Certified Transactional Analyst and a UKCP-registered psychotherapist in private practice.

Happiest when: I’m under clear blue skies in a warm breeze. And reading to my kids. And enjoying a good (so really bad) pun!

Cleo Nicolaou

Consultant

Cleo has been supporting clients to design, introduce and embed new organisational structures, roles and ways of working for the past 25 years. She has been part of the WDI team for the last 12 and, prior to that was a senior consultant with PA Consulting Group. Her enthusiasm and experience has been developed in a wide range of private and public sector organisations in health-care, financial, high-tech and service industries. She enjoys understanding the different challenges each presents, and developing solutions to meet the client’s specific requirements, culture and business pressures.

Happiest when: I’m at home with my family, walking the dogs, gardening, playing tennis, making cakes with my daughter – but not all at the same time!
