Our approach to culture change

Culture needs to be lived to be believed

Most leaders already have a clear sense of the culture they want. The challenge is turning that aspiration into something people recognise in daily decisions, leadership behaviour and ways of working. That is where culture change either takes hold or quietly stalls.

Our work is designed to embed culture change so that it is consistent, built to last and responsive over time, delivering value where it matters most, in the daily ways of working between team members, with leaders, and your clients and stakeholders.

What makes our work different is where we place the focus. We don’t treat culture as a set of values to communicate, although real human to human comms really matters. We know culture as the mindset and behavioural shift underlying your values that ultimately drives your mission. Culture becomes actionable when it is defined through clear behaviours that resonate with your purpose and your people.

Leaders sit at the centre of this work. When leaders connect personally to the change and build the skills to live and lead it, culture change moves from intention to reality. It is reinforced through daily actions and peer influence, not one off initiatives. Which is why culture cannot just live on the statements on the wall, or the new values brand book, it needs to be personally experienced and authentically embodied by your leaders.

Our change principles

Our approach is underpinned by a small set of clear change principles that guide how we work with leaders and organisations.

We inspire self insight, helping leaders reflect on their impact and build awareness of how their behaviour shapes culture.

We connect to purpose, enabling people to engage with change in a way that feels meaningful at an individual, team and organisational level.

We focus on developing change leadership, recognising that the success of any strategy or transformation depends on how it is lived and led. Leaders’ beliefs, behaviours and commitment ripple throughout the organisation.

We align the architecture, ensuring that culture change connects with existing values, leadership frameworks and organisational systems rather than competing with them.

We optimise involvement, creating opportunities for people at all levels to engage with the change and shape what it means for them in practice. This builds ownership and momentum. And critically, we use resistance as rocket fuel. Rather than pushing resistance aside, we work with it to surface what matters, unlock energy and strengthen commitment to change.

These principles keep the work grounded, human and practical, even in complex or high pressure environments.

Our change approach: Define, Lead, Empower, Measure

Our culture and behaviour change work follows a clear four stage approach. This provides structure without rigidity and allows culture change to be embedded and reviewed continuously.

Define – your culture blueprint

We begin by working with you to create a culture blueprint. This defines the critical From / To behaviours that will underpin your cultural aspirations.

Through diagnostic and design conversations, observation, interviews and focus groups, we surface sentiment, identify barriers and uncover opportunities for behavioural change. In partnership, we establish a clear From / To change journey and a baseline for measuring behavioural success. This stage creates clarity. People understand what needs to change, why it matters and what success looks like in practice.

Lead – role model the culture shift

Culture change accelerates when leaders actively role model the behaviours they want to see.
We equip leaders to guide the change journey by building the skills, motivation and daily habits required to live the change themselves. This includes experiential workshops that create safe spaces for conversation, strategic impact circles that build high trust peer relationships, and practical tools that support leaders in the flow of work.

When leaders have a tangible experience of the shift in mindset and behaviours themselves, they then lead the change visibly and consistently, the culture shift becomes credible and contagious.

Empower – enable culture makers at all levels

Sustainable culture change does not rely on a small group at the top. It spreads through culture makers at all levels of the organisation.

We help identify and enable these culture makers by facilitating cross level engagement, creating communities where new social norms are developed and shared, and designing positive contagion so new behaviours are amplified across the system.

This ensures that culture change becomes embedded locally through peer influence, not dependent on hierarchy.

Measure – track cultural ROI and act early

We track progress through live stories, observations and real time feedback, giving leaders insight into how behaviours are landing day to day.

This allows organisations to understand their cultural ROI, identify emerging culture risks, and make insight driven adjustments early. Technology enabled analysis supports leaders with feedback on leadership behaviours in action.

Measurement keeps culture change focused, responsive and connected to performance.

Client impact and feedback

Our work support organisations operating in complex, high stakes environments where culture directly affects performance, trust and delivery.

We have partnered with leadership teams to shift ways of working from individual siloes to collective accountability, enabling global transformation programmes to accelerate and business results to improve.

Clients describe gaining the confidence to reflect honestly on how they lead, and to make significant changes at critical moments in their organisation’s history. Leaders talk about the ripple effect of these changes, as new behaviours spread through teams and create more joined up, effective ways of working.

Across sectors, our clients value the way we combine human connection with practical action, helping leaders engage with areas that may not come easily, while staying focused on outcomes that matter. To learn more about our client’s experience, read our culture change client stories.
